Internships: Are designed to provide AUP students with real exposure to Coast Guard missions both at operational units at a Headquarters/policy-level.
Students may be able to earn college credit for their experience, depending on the policies of their school.
Eligibility: All currently currently-enrolled AUP students that have achieved AUP Senior status and are in good standing in the program may apply for an internship.
Before the Internship
Familiarize yourself with the AUP Internship Guide.
Students must have the ODU uniform, at a minimum, with all proper AUX insignia.
Be aware that you will be on unfunded orders, therefore lodging/meals and/or commuting expenses will be out of pocket. In some cases, the unit may be able to provide lodging in UPH and meals.
Submit the online Internship Application.
Provide multiple locations/units that you would be interested in.
Specify if you would also be interested in a virtual internship.
The internship coordinator will contact you to discuss assignment options.
